Antec Roundup July 2014 – featuring Nineteen Hundred Case and Kuhler 950/1250

Antec Kuhler 1250 and Kuhler 950

We start our cooler section of the review with the high end Kuhler 1250 and like the other products in this article it arrives well protected by the packaging. Bundled with the unit we have a manual, software CD (Antec GRID for monitoring/tweak our cooler) and the various brackets, stickers and screws required for the installation.

The Kuhler 1250 uses a 240mm radiator with 2x12cm fans pre-attached. Dual pumps are built in to the fan assembly and they pass our coolant around the unit and down to the compact CPU block. That block has LED illumination on the top and a copper base with thermal paste pre-applied.

The Kuhler 1250 is compatible with Intel 775/1150/1155/1156/1366 and 2011 sockets. AMD AM2-AM3+ and FM1/2 are all supported also.

For those opting for the Kuhler 950 the box and bundle experience is pretty similar, though we do receive a separate 12cm pulse width modulation fan.

The main cooler design is also very similar to the 1250. We get the same CPU plate (and LED), paste and pump/fan combo design. The only difference this time round is one pump and a 12cm double width radiator.

Installation of the two coolers is identical. For example with the Intel 115x and AMD platforms we apply the backplate to the back of the motherboard, attach the retention bracket to the CPU block and then secure the two parts together with four screws. (Image of installed cooler available on the last page of this review).

  1. Nice review, I am now looking at either this case or the H440 NZXT case.
