Asus announces a general price increase

ASUS has just officially announced that it will increase the prices of its major components, including graphics cards and motherboards. The increase follows inflation in the cost of components, logistics and operations. A general trend amplified by the health crisis.

Asus officially announces

The translation of the official press release : Update on MSRP prices for ASUS components in 2021. This update applies to graphics cards and motherboards * We have an announcement regarding the MSRP price changes that will take effect in early 2021 for our award-winning series of graphics cards and motherboards. Our new MSRP reflects the increased cost of components, operating costs, logistics activities and the maintenance of import tariffs. We have worked closely with our supply and logistics partners to minimise price increases. ASUS greatly appreciates your continued activity and support as we move through this period of unprecedented market change. * additional models may see an increase as we move into the first quarter. Juan Jose Guerrero III, Technical Product Marketing Manager at ASUS Videocardz notes that a significant increase has already been noted at the US distributor Newegg where the price of the Radeon RX 6800 XT ROG STRIX LC has risen from USD 899.99 to USD 1079.99. On the Asus website, the US version also shows an overall increase compared to the prices posted at the end of last year.

We will have to observe the French market in the next few days but we have already alerted our readers last year to a basic trend that will take hold in 2021. Unfortunately, Asus is only officially confirming this analysis.
