B550 Vision D: a very nice mid-range motherboard!

B550 Vision D: a very nice mid-range motherboard!

New motherboard for Gigabyte that focuses on the mid-range sector of AMD. You will have understood it, the brand unveils a reference equipped with a B550 chipset. In short, here is the very nice B550 Vision D and seriously, it makes an impression on us!

B550 Vision D: the prettiest of the B550 cards?

Gigabyte B550 Vision D

With this new model, Gigabyte presents a board in ATX format with an AM4 socket and a B550 chipset, so this new model is designed to accommodate Ryzen 3000 CPUs.

Otherwise, from a design point of view, there’s no need to say, the visual aspect of this reference is clearly successful. We find the classic caches on the rear connectors as well as on the audio part. The chipset heatsink is imposing and we even have a tab to hide the EPS12V connectors of the CPU.

In terms of connectivity, we have the usual range of four RAM slots (up to 128 GB). For the graphics cards, there are two PCIe x16 4.0 that work in x8/x8 when a graphics card is plugged in. The whole thing will be Crossfire compatible, but not SLI. Finally, at the very bottom, we have a third one running in x4 and 3.0 standard.

For storage, two M.2 ports are present. The first one is directly connected to the CPU, so it will benefit from a PCIe x4 4.0 interface while the second one will be in 3.0. Otherwise, four SATA III 6 Gb/s are available, two of which are angled.

We will quickly finish with the audio part which houses a Realtek ALC1220-VB chip. For the network, we have a WiFi 6 Intel AX200 module as well as two Ethernet managed by Intel GbE LAN chips in 1000/100 Mbit.

Again, no idea about the price, but don’t expect a cheap card.
