The Q10

Blackberry Q10 front

The Z10 is offered in two colours at this time, black and white with our handset being the former. It measures 119.6×66.8×10.4mm and weighs 139g. Like the Z10 there is no Corning Gorilla Glass present here and underneath the alternative scratch resistant screen we find a 3.1" capacitive display which has a resolution of 720×720 pixels with a 328ppi density. The area surrounding the screen is also touch sensitive, for gestures such as taking us back the main screen from an app and beneath the display is a physical qwerty keyboard.

Down the right edge of the handset we find buttons for volume up/down and voice activation. Then round at the left are a micro USB connector and HDMI out.

At the top of the handset is the power/lock button and a mic along with the 3.5mm audio connector. Flipping round to the base we find another mic and speaker.

Blackberry Q10 rear

On the back, which uses a rubber like surface we find the Blackberry logo and our camera with LED flash. This is an 8 megapixel model and auto-focus with face detection is supported as is geo-tagging and 1080p video with stabilization. On the front we also find a camera, this time a 2MP/720p part.

Blackberry Q10 battery

We slide the back cover downwards to remove it and after that can see that Blackberry opt for a removable battery, 2100mAh in this case. A micro SIM is required and there is also a micro-SD card slot to bump up the storage by up to 64GB. Blackberry have opted for a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus (1.5GHz Krait) and the OS is provided with 2GB of RAM and storage of 16GB is the standard configuration. The handset supports 4G/LTE as well as the more widely available HSDPA (21Mbps), HSUPA (5.76Mbps). Also included is Wi-Fi-n (dual band), Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP and A-GPS. Accelerometer, gyro, compass and proximity sensor are also present in the Q10 as is NFC.
