Crysis is an extremely demanding 3D game so we are testing our budget cards at modest 800×600 and 1024×768 resolutions with the details set to low and without enabling any anti-aliasing options.

Unfortunately the game is still unplayable when we are using either of the ATi HD3450 based cards and the POV 8500GT card, even at such modest settings. The XFX 8600GT fares a lot better and the game becomes playable, however should you choose to go with 1024×768 there are scenes where the frame rate drops noticeably and a few times when it even becomes choppy. Both of the ATi HD3650 based cards offer similar performance and the game is perfectly playable at 1024×768 when using either of them.

The XFX 9600GSO offers the best performance, averaging about 15% higher than the factory over clocked HD3650 based cards when running the game at 1024×768.
