Budget Graphics Card Roundup

Sapphire Radeon HD3450 512MB

Sapphire’s HD3450 offering arrives in a fancy looking box with very little technical information detailed. Inside the box you will find a drivers CD, a basic manual, a DVI to D-Sub adapter, a mini-DIN to HDTV adapter and a mini-DIN to S-Video adapter.

The Sapphire HD3450 512MB card is built on a full size blue PCB. A passive heatsink takes care of the cooling needs of this product, which is large enough but not as well designed as the one we saw on the HIS model. Sapphire adheres to the reference configuration for their offering; the core is clocked at 600MHz and the memory is clocked at 1GHz. The memory chips found on the card are Hynix HY5PS121621C-FP2 2ns chips. The card requires no external power and has dual DVI outputs (HDCP enabled) as well as a mini-DIN video out.
