Final Thoughts and Conclusion

The CM Storm Sniper is a fantastic addition to Cooler Master’s portfolio of creations and is a promising first product for the new CM Storm gaming brand.

It is a perfect system for the target market combining looks, performance, durability and build quality. It looks stealthy, militaristic and the blue fan LEDs really add a great effect to the overall aesthetics. The thermal performance is certainly up to scratch, although a side fan would definitely aid with the GPU temperatures, additionally with the fans on the highest setting they were a little intrusive in regards to volume, albeit nowhere near as painful as the side fan we heard a few weeks ago on the Thermaltake Spedo.

The build quality really impressed us despite the use of plastic in quite a few areas the machine is incredibly solid and will certainly take a beating. This also brings us to one of the features that Cooler Master have added to the mix, the two steel carrying handles on the top of the case which are perfect for the travelling gamer taking their system between tournaments and LANs. While we’re on that note, there is also the brand new Stormguard security system which we feel is particularly innovative. This means that a passerby won’t be able to quickly pull your mouse out of the system and snatch it.

Inside the case there is plenty of space for components including multiple graphics cards, several hard drives and even a suitable location for a dual 120mm water-cooling radiator. The front panel is fantastic as well, with all the connectors you could need and a fan control knob complete with an LED switch.

This is another brilliant product from Cooler Master and I would recommend it to anybody shopping in the £120-140 price range who finds that the combination of quality and features meets their criteria. The build quality is top notch, the performance is promising and it is a unique looking chassis that will last you for years.
