CMP 220HX : a hash rate of 210 MH/s for a price of $3000

Rumors about a mining card based on nVidia A100 GPU are going on. This time, it’s about some numbers since this potential CMP 220HX could reach important hash rates on Ethereum!

The rumors are getting clearer about this “super GPU” for minors. From what we can read here and there, the hash rate would be important since the card could reach 210 MH/s. For comparison, an RTX 3090 is almost half as powerful as this new model. In terms of profitability, the NiceHash calculator puts forward profits of $11 for the RTX 3090 against $16 for an nVidia A100 GPU. Of course, it is always possible to optimize your setup to increase profits.

Now, it remains to be seen what the configuration of this famous CMP card will be. Here, Wccftech

mentions a card with a lower TDP than its server counterpart. We can imagine values going from 350W to 250W for this minor model. The same goes for the HBM2e memory, which would be reduced by five stacks. This model could well land with 5 GB of VRAM while keeping its memory bus of 5120 bits and its bandwidth of 1.6 TB/s.

Thus, by proposing a neutered configuration, nVidia could market its card around $3000, still according to rumors. At this price, the greens would offer an “affordable” card in view of its performance. Remember that the RTX 3090 are currently priced between $2000 and $3000 for a much lower hash rate.
