CMP 30HX: Gigabyte officially announces its mining card!

Well, we won’t go over the whole situation again, blah, blah, blah, breakage, blah, blah, mining, etc. In short, there’s no need to draw you a picture. To get out of this situation, Nvidia is proposing a series of cards specially dedicated to mining. Here is the first model to be officially announced with Gigabyte (this one which was leaked a few weeks ago). The brand lifts the veil on its CMP 30HX equipped with an in-house heatsink!

CMP 30HX: Gigabyte’s card officially announced!

Gigabyte CMP 30HX

With this little 30HX card, we know that this model uses a TU116-100 GPU. The latter offers 1408 Cuda Core and has a total of 6 GB of GDDR6 with a 192-bit memory bus. However, this information is not clearly listed on the brand’s website. Ditto for what is the hashrate, one of the essential information for a miner card. Officially, Nvidia announced its card at 26 MH/s on Ethereum.

However, what is clearly put forward by the brand is its cooling system. The latter is none other than the WindForce 2X equipped with two 90 mm fans. These fans work in opposite directions to each other. Finally, when they rotate, they blow on a large network of aluminum fins crossed by a single copper heat pipe.

Regarding the operating frequencies of this model, you should know that the card runs at the reference frequencies of Nvidia. This implies a boost to 1785 MHz with memory clocked at 14 Gbps. Finally, the card requires a single 8-pin PCIe connector for its power supply. By the way, Gigabyte recommends using a 450W power supply.

Finally, the determining factor remains the selling price of these solutions. Yes, if they come at too high a price, miners will take too long to make them profitable. In that case, you might as well throw yourself at the GeForce series. And from what we learn on VideoCardz does not make us very happy. Indeed, this card was visible on a Romanian sales site at a price of $720! Yes, it is expensive the GTX 1660 Super “mining edition”. Moreover, we don’t know if this price represents the one of nVidia or Gigabyte or if it is a placeholder or a price taking into account the stock shortage.

Last but not least, the warranty period is important. On this subject, it is 3 months, just like the mining cards from GPU Pascal.

Here is the Gigabyte datasheet!
