24 pin to 10 pin

    I bought a new psu ..corsair vs450..but my motherboard doesnt support 24 pin atx ..can i use 24 pin to 10 pin adapter in my motherboard and use 1060 gtx ..will it run

    10 pin connector? What sorcery is that?! Is that some kind of Lenovo computer? Those sometimes come with 10-pin connectors. What model of the PC and/or motherboard is it? I don't think that those connectors are that standardised, so it would be good to know the exact pinout of the motherboard connector and the adapter cable before trying anything.

    There's 2 pairs of 12v and ground wires in that 10 pin connector. Each pair can safely carry 12v 9A to the motherboard... that's 100w ... so two pairs of wires can easily get 200 watts or so into the motherboard.
    From those 200w, only 60..75w can be used to power the pci-e slot, and the rest are available for other things (chipset, powering ram, creating 5v and 3.3v for sata ssds and hard drives, powering chipset and onboard audio, lan etc.

    You have more than enough power coming into the motherboard for everything
