Hello. I am in some serious help of finding a new monitor.

The monitor must be a 30 inch. Not 27 or 24 but 30 inch! :)
    Resolution must also be 2560x1600.

What shall I use this monitor for?

FPS games mainly but also some RTS like SC2 and Diablo 3.

So guys.. What can you recommend me? The price doesn't really matter. I just want a 30 inch monitor that can be used as a gaming monitor first and foremost.

Thanks for your time reading this.

    Best regards

Consider Dell's 30 inch , I have had one for a year connecting via a display port; Civ V, Elder Scrolls, COH2... They just launched a new version.

How good are TVs of that or larger size for PC gaming? They tend to be FAR cheaper.

I am not a FPS player but COH2 is an demanding games graphically have not seen any issues.(I use max settings)

My video card (7950 3 GB) can handle the load that maxed out settings. The U3011 has been around for awhile and seems to me to be able to handle the resolution. The monitor was calibrated at the factory and you do get the calibration report from the factory. I saw comments form pro photographers that they use 3011 and are very please with image quality, I know that does not answer the FPS question however,.

I do connect via a display port cable vs HDMI..do not know if that has any impact..read a lot of back and forth on virtues of display port vs HDMi

Have not had any experience with the newer version, U3041, you can still find the U3011. At the time of purchase I was considering a HP monitor as well but went with Dell,

Get a Seiki 50" 4k if you demand large panel + High Resolution. they have a 36" model as well that apparently is splendid

    going to be hard to beat a 36" @ 4k (3840x2160) lol
