Acer has been making public the new Tridef 3D solution that will give a '3D experience for photos and videos', as well as Direct X 9 and above games. The laptop is called the 5738DG.

The new Aspire features a 15.6 inch CineCrystal HD 1366x768 3D Display as well as the Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 which is clocked at 2.2ghz. The graphics are delivered via a Radeon HD 4570 with 512mb of memory and there is 4GB of system memory. When you combine all this with a 320gb HD, DVD writer, Wifi, integrated webcam, multi gesture touchpad and card reader you end up with a pretty well rounded system spec.

The TriDef 3d solution includes a 3d Display, 3d Polarizing glasses and software to make the whole thing function correctly. If it works much like Nvidia's package it should be a worthwhile experience.

The battery is a rather weak 6 cell 4400mAh unit and it ships with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and the price is set to be just under the $800 mark.

It would be acceptable if when it is on sale here it isn't with the usual $1=Euro1 "exchange rate".

Specs are good, apart from the battery, but yeah, it looks like a good machine. I hope there is a review in the future (hint hint)
