This card is just a stock Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB

    its stock clocks are 380/340

    I ran the last test @ 410/382

ram was running 7-3-3-2 (OCZ PC3200 EL)

and my best so far @ 200MHz FSB has been 18,631

weird thing is ... the memory on the vid card is Samsung 3.3ns memory... so it shouldnt clock over 303MHz ... but there must be something very odd about the way that SAMSUNG rates the memory ... because it was doing WAY over the default

    1000/3.3 = 303MHz .... not 382MHz!

I dunno ... I did some research on the memory modules... and they are built on a new .13 micron fabrication process ... not the normal .15 micron ... I am thinking that this may have a lot to do with the reason why I am seeing such a heafty overclock.

I would however like to own some system memory with this samsung memory modules mounted on it!

Here is what is written on the memory modules:

    Code:
    SAMSUNG 322

    K4D263238E-GC33

Looks like I am not the only one surprised by this type of memory...

    check this thread out.

Hey Wire. Sorry I did not answer you I left to go camping. I am not sure what you mean. Theme? You mean my sig? If you mean my sig well I think Tigger is the shit. So I altered it hella. I like that stupid look on his face. My favourite colors is blue. My driver no. is 7. (I drive towtruck, but before anyone judges we are the good guys. Superhero's so to speak.) Discombobulated is my favourite word is discombobulated and I changed the building blocks to some of the computer components I own. (needs to be updated) Hope thats what you meant by theme.
    And Mitchelson
You mean RAS to CAS. I dont believe anyone who sais they got there A7N8X Deluxe's CAS to RAS set to 2. I have tried in many dif settings. It will not even try to boot. My settings have always been ?/3/2/2 or ?/3/3/2. My CPU is 1.775 or 1.800 Volts. DIMM is 2.6 or 2.7
Have you tried the UBER 1005 Bio's? It add's voltage control for the chipset. without doing the infamous voltage mod.

I think he meant C.L cas latency 2/2,5/3 (and this setting does alot for performance)but as most of know...not all ram can run at that especially overclocked.

    Hey WyreTheWolf,
Of topic again (it happens i suppose) I have Infineon Ram on my Sapphire 9700np and the modules say:

    INFINEON
    HYB25D128323C - 3.3
    SUU50816

Can i take this to mean that my ram is rated 3.3ns?
Also doesnt a lower rating (say 3ns) mean that the ram is 'faster'?
If this is the case how can 3.3ns (3.3x100=330Mhz) be faster than 3ns (3x100=300Mhz)?
Just curious coz i wanna know how far i should be able to push it :)
Also is there any info on the max voltage on the DDR module? (i checked infineons website but they dont make the ram any more and as such have no tech info on it :( )

    cheerz

for one you are doing the math wrong...

    here is the formula:

    1000 / n = x

    1000 / 3.3 = 303MHz
    1000 / 3.0 = 333MHz

good luck... If you have 3.3ns memory you are most likely stuck at around 300MHz or so.

    Hey WyreTheWolf,
how are u testing for ur max overclocks on your GPU/ram. Are you just looking for artifacts when running 3dMark, or are u using another utility (such as artifact tester)?

just run loops of 3DMark2001 looking for artifacts, or any lockups, crashes.

i have been messing with my FSB lately, i tried to get 205 and 12.0, and the bytch wouldnt boot, so im gonna lower the MP and shoot for 220 and 10.0 or 10.5, anwser me this, does running at 220*10.0 run faster then running at my current settings?

ok my comp would restart when i put the FSB at 220 and the MP at 10, i tried bumbing up the core only to get into windows and have it restart again and i tried putting my memory timings on optimal, i beileve it was 9,4,4,3 yucky timmings, and even ptu the Vcore up a bit more and once again, i got into windows tried to run sandrasoft and she rebooted, so i messed aroudn a little and put her at 215*11.0, at 1.8V, and put my memory timmings at 8,3,3,2... Now i ran sandrasoft and got 6,496 Whetstone, and with my old settings (in my SIG), i got 6,422... not a big difference... anyone?

With my ATI 9500 PRO 3.3NS the highest I could get my memory without artifacts is 303mhz, so good math Wyre.

Core was 353 MAX I think, I cant remember... I betcha if I put some heatsinks on this card it could go a little higher.

Your right mitchelson. There was a problem. It was called the Blaster Worm. Pisses me off. Anyways. This is better.
    Memory Bandwidth
    CPU Arithmatic
I just purchased The Swiftech water cooling kit. Temps are great. Got my fsb up to 216x10.5. I really dont think it will go any higher. I dont think this board will anyway. I should have listened to Zardon and got the Abit. I think I might soon.

Only prob was nothing would load!!! :hmm:

    3dmark that is
