This is for all you retro gamers out there, a Sega Mega Drive Mini, nice and cheap and fun, all at the same time, what can I say, I don't think you guys saw my first competition thread but it was kinda boring for most of you I suspect. Anyhow it is that special time again.

Here is a short description on the prize up for grabs:

"The Sega Genesis Mini is a faithfully reproduced miniature retro console packed with 42 classic titles, including Castlevania, Contra, Mega Man, Shinobi, Sonic the Hedgehog, Street Fighter, and Virtua Fighter. More obscure titles include Earthworm Jim, Ecco the Dolphin, Toejam and Earl, and more."

It's actually a pretty cool piece of hardware, and well made, here is a quick review from Gameranx, my go to for reviews:

    Rules:

    1. Only for regulars, no drive-bys, you need to have been a member for at least longer than 3 years, and come online regularly.

    2. Post "I love retro games!" below to enter. :)

    3. I soley will choose the winner at random, no favoritism here.

    4. Anyone who won any of the last 3 competitions can not join, I think that's fair enough right?

    5. Competition closes end of March, 2020.

    6. Regarding the low number of entries that usually come in on my competitions, if one person enters and is the only person entered by the end of March, then they win it by default.

Without further ado let the entries pour in!

Edit: sorry for posting this in the news section at fiirst lol.

So that makes it.. As the regulars..
    Myself..
    Tyrsonswood
    Trusteft
    Mr Cairo
    Dyre Straits
    IvanV
    Judas

And I am now hard pushed to see any more...

Rule 4: No one who won any of the last 3 competitions may join, sorry to them and hey, I think that's fair enough right?

Sorry to say that they have been counted out of the competition… ?

Rule 6. Regarding the low number of entries that usually come in on my competitions, if one person enters and is the only person entered by the end of March, then they win it by default.

Can't wait to see how many times the rules change before he gives it to one of his buddies at home....

We have other regulars, like Reality Ripple and QB71 for example. :)

Heck even my old spamming mate Rayder still pops in every now and again.

And yes the peeps that won the last 3 comps can't join just to give some others a chance, I've changed this in the rules to try to reflect that.

And I do think it is fair, if one person enters and no one else does, that person shouldn't be penalized because no one else wanted the console, let them win and get their prize. So yes they win by default if they are the only entry.

I just don't want to see someone getting it who does not post on here and sticking around for the prize then going back to the land on the web from whence they came. The pool of people that could win is small, but I do use a randomnizer to pick the winner so it could be anyone, I don't go "Hmmm lemme see who I would like to win".

    You missed my point entirely.

Every time you do this the first post could just be "I make up the rules as I go along, then give it to my brother instead" which is usually the way these things go.

By the way... I'm not in this contest as I would never use whatever it is you are giving away. Just an observer here.

Come now, of all the comps I've held I have always always always given the winner their prize, even though I might take my sweet ass time doing so. The only time I might not have followed through wasn't in a competition, it was when I had something second hand. And was looking for someone to "give" it away to. Not a competition. You can do some searching and see that all the comps I've ever had on here ended with a happy camper on the other side.

It's not like I have the console bought and paid for right now, I'll get it for whoever wins. ;)

As for the rules, well, you know me, like the stock market I am in a constant state of flux. :D

And you know what they say about spectator ions:

I haven't kept the record of how things ended on previous occasions because I don't think I ever entered, but I think it's cool what Cal's trying to do. :) As for the rule changes, looking at the posts, it seems that that's what people are asking for. :p

I'm on the fence about opening these things to new members. Sure potentially a bunch of people would join just to try their luck, but perhaps there's a chance of attracting some new blood. God knows that we're all in our prime and all that, but it might not be the worst idea.

Trusteft seems to be in the clear lead. :D

I did play on the Mega Drive when I was in primary school (although I did not own one), but I don't remember any of the games that come with this system. I remember Mortal Kombat 1-3, Aladdin, NBA Live and NBA Jam, but those aren't on the list. And Boogerman! :D Well, ok, on closer inspection, I did play some Sonic game on the Mega Drive and I also played an Earthworm Jim game (although I think it was Earthworm Jim 3D) on the PC and, of course, Tetris, and maybe I've heard of a few more, but that's it.

I've been a visitor of DriverHeaven for a while... does that count?

I do, admittedly lurk more than post nowadays

Adding: I still have my MDII with 32X and Mega CD. This console is missing Sonic CD and Knuckles Chaotix :(

Yes it counts because you actually take the time to post from time to time, and the time to log in. Plus I do see you from time to time, you may enter if you like. :)

But just make sure that @Trusteft doesn't shoot you first. :D
