Can't remember where I saw it, they basically said sound can be picked up by mics, sent over the interwebs with the virus encoded in the coughs and sneezes and transfered back into sound thereupon infecting someone else, of course it was a crock of shit which is why I didn't post it here. LOLOLOL!

I was tempted to post a picture of me, all pale, lying on a hospital bed with a breathing mask and an IV on Facebook, but I didn't want to stress out my aunts and the friends with whose small children I played a couple of days ago.

BTW, in case you're wondering, I caught a bit of a virus just over a month ago. It didn't last long, but on days 1 and 3, I had a temperature of up to 39.1°C so I decided to go check myself and while I was waiting for the tests, they gave me saline solution both to inhale and as IV.

EDIT: It's such good trolling material that I'm still thinking about it. And an office mate is talking me into it since yesterday.

So @Calliers you find covid 19 funny? Let's hope none of your loved one gets it and suffers from it.

@Calliers Meh, it was just some random virus. I did have a nasty dry cough which made my throat raw, after which I had a ton of mucus, but fortunately nothing on lungs and it was more or less over after 4 days. I caught it on a trip and the whole panic about the "Chinese" virus was starting to erupt while I was away and, when we landed, we were greeted at the gate by a medic, a police officer and some third person. They asked us something but I couldn't make out what because I was temporarily nearly deaf from the landing and I thought "Here goes... they're going to snatch me!", but someone else answered and I kind of echoed and they murmured something and left. I was later told that they said something like "We missed one!"

As for finding things funny, the people around me take things seriously, but we don't see a point in being grim all the time. Case in point, it's 23°C out there today, so, lunch break:

Yeah, the Italians found it funny. Over reacting Chinese lol. Some of them have different look on it now.
I just can't laugh with something which kills innocent people en masse right now. And it's not just the direct killing. Victims of the virus over burden the health care system and others who need medical attention can't/won't be able to get it and suffer or die because of it.
It's a very serious situation. It's not end of species event or anything, but...so some respect to the thousands of deaths so far and who knows how many more in the next year or two when it spreads out even more. Read the article I linked to if you want. Nothing funny.

Oh no, I do not find it funny at all. If we were to discuss it seriously my heart goes out to all those affected.

I went to the pharmacy and supermarket today.
Ethyl alcohol and other cheap disinfectants are gone. At least in this area.
    Plenty of toilet paper though.

Ebay removed the listing. They say that I should still get the item. Any advice from more experienced users of the platform?!ž

Weird, the seller has positive feedback in the thousands and his other listings seem to be standing.

All the disinfectants and surgical masks, 6 months worth of TP, flour and I've even seen people going for sacks of salt (like 5kg or more), which is really mind boggling

Salt? Really? Are they expecting a nuclear fallout?
I bought 400g of salt last August, there are like 320 of it left, if not more.
5Kg, it would probably last me 20 years if not more.

Today the government announced shut down of all shops apart from pharmacies, supermarkets and take away/delivery food services. Everything else must close/not open.

The effort is mostly to reduce the rate of infection, to ease up on the pressure the health service/institutions are coming under so that people don't start dying because of lack of basic stuff/care. Next door (Italy), 250 people died in one day alone because of this.

We certainly live in interesting times.

Not sure we are taking it seriosuly in the UK yet, schools still open roads still busy and work still happening, the only thing that stands out is the panic buying of toilet roll, pasta, beans and paracetemol

other than that things are moving on ..... I figure the over the next 10 days of so things will change
