    Hello,

I'm here looking for any possible help that I can get with an issue I'm having. I have a Gigabyte G1 Assassin 2 x79 motherboard and Windows 10 drivers were never officially released for it. That being said there is a small workaround that has worked in the past by installing third-party drivers, IE. DanielK or PAX as well as 3 registry files that let the system know that you do indeed have a Creative product on my motherboard.

The issue is while I had issues getting the audio drivers installed and Creative software working in the past, around the time I first migrated to Windows 10, I decided to reinstall Windows 10 Pro 1903 since the May update and have not been able to get my computer to use the correct Creative driver with my speakers at all, or open any of the Creative software. I am able to install all of the drivers and software but anytime I do install the drivers from Creative my speakers disappear in the sound control panel, and become hidden in Device Manager. The only way I've managed to get any sound at all is to uninstall all Creative drivers and software and let Windows use the generic High Definition Audio Device drivers.

I've tried installing/using DanielK, PAX, and even the old stock Win 7 drivers from Gigabyte to no avail.

Anyone have any recommendations or suggestions to possibly get my audio working properly?
    Thanks.

Unfortunately there's no workaround that I know of, same issue with the SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty on Windows 10 1903, it's in the Device Manager but there's only the SPDIF-Out and Mic / Line In, from my understanding it's because Micro$oft merged yet another windows function to the Windows 10 Apps system, this being what controls audio devices, you could try installing the official creative drivers: https://support.creative.com/Products/product_list.aspx?catID=1&CatName=Sound+Blaster# , I straight didn't even bother testing and just replaced my card with a SoundBlaster X AE-5, creative official drivers for the X-Fi series are garbage.

Best of luck and if someone finds a work around as to make PAX drivers work again, let us know.

Managed to fix it with latest windows update - Windows 10 x64 version 1903

My card is this one: CREATIVE SOUND BLASTER X-FI PLATINUM FATAL1TY CHAMPION SERIES

I post what i did, to help others as well :)
    1. i have uninstalled every referrence i had from Creative.
    2. Restart
    3. Installed this one: https://mega.nz/#!BEtkWKDb!FFZ8M-UY0fsan_qQsexNuZls1nKExJkfetEEPXyeupo - Creative_XFI_Titanium_AIO .7z (i had some warning while i was installing it)
    4. Restart
    5. I loaded Creative Console Launcher (prefer it from Creative Audio Control Panel, as it shows why DTS it's not enabled
    6. I opened Sound Settings, and on playback tab of Sound Control Panel, make sure that Creative SB X-Fi is default device (not SPDIF Out, which ofc must be enabled as well, dont disable it).
    7. On properties of Creative SB X-Fi check advanced tab, and make sure everything below exclusive mode are ticked
    8. On properties of SPDIF Out, check advanced tab also and make sure everything below exclusive mode are ticked
    9. On Recording tab, make sure "what u hear" option is default and on Listen tab, untick the listen to this device option.
After these, i managed through Creative Console Launcher and on Encoders tab, to enable DTS and be saved there. Hope these can help others as well :)

Thanks for the info and tutorial, meanwhile I'm using the SoundBlasterX A-5 so if you don't mind me asking, how do those drivers fare sound quality wise compared to PAX drivers?

Thanks for all the information and help everybody.

I still cannot get my pc to use the creative drivers and see speakers/headphones in device manager or sound control panel, so I just uninstall the Creative SB X-Fi driver and software under sound, video and game controllers section in device manager, then have to reboot so that windows will use the High Definition Audio Device driver which I believe is the generic and for some reason the only way the computer will see my speakers/headphones. This whole situation is quite bizarre. That being said, I also posted my question on Reddit and one of the replies stated that "I would recommend getting an external DAC or maybe google to find some workarounds. 1803 to 1809 broke audio consoles from Realtek so I think it had some big changes 1903 may have done the same for creative audio products." Which gives some insight into the overall issue.

Also does anyone know how to stop windows from installing the creative drivers after I uninstall them and reboot so that I can have sound?
