well if the V10 performs as it should.. and the OCZ Freeze Thermal Paste (4th tube) isn't like the previous others that didn't work, i think i maybe be able to get as close to H2O cooling conditions as possible with air

oh yea.. it wasn't such a big a deal for me to PM you personally.. I thought you were already busy enough without answering my nosy inquiries :D
Was just asking the question in the hope somebody knew something, thought it might have been a competition I missed or something.
Second post of me asking was kind of a joke because nobody mentioned anything in the posts after mine.

But anyway, great thing from DH and AMD.
And thanks for answering Z

Aha, Neshi, you asked my question too :)

I also was wondering where these 'Expert-kits' came from. I couldn't find a contest either :p Nevertheless very nice Zardon.

You also have fun with it longhorn1000 ;)

Dominators with rev 1.x with the GMH chips? Or did you bought them new?

You'll get less hassle and more bang for your buck there I think.

Too bad the Megahalems doesn't support AM3, it's often better than a TRUE :)

The Scythe Mugen 2 is a good cooler with a good price if you ask me. If I were you I would get one of those.

Hey all, sorry for the lack of updates. Took my cooler and memory longer to arrive than I expected but I have them now :)

After a lot of thinking I went for the Domino thing from Coolit and so now I have...

    Asus Board
    AMD 940
    Asus X2
    Coolit Domino
2x2gb Corsair dominators (with fans), rated for 1100+ MHz which should be enough.

I'll be using my existing optical drive for this build which leaves me with the decision on the PSU/HD that I need to buy next.... SSD's are so tempting, as are those new raptor's but they both look so expensive!!!

    Nice cooler and RAM!

I would just put two wd caviar black or samsung spinpoints hdds in raid0. SDD's are still too highly priced in my opinion.

As for the PSU, if you're overclocking, I'd go towards 1000W. Corsair probably... I dunno, but the PC power&cooling 860W might be sufficient too.

OK, so i was out at my local computer shop today and was able to pick up an enermax Galaxy for a very reasonable price (probably because its the older style). Have put in in my existing low spec 775 system to check its working ok and here is a pic (sorry about the quality, had to do it on my iphone as the camera batteries had died)...

So that just leaves my final component... the drive...
