Wow the Tom's Hardware Tool really looks great i must agree.
I wouldn't even compare the two benchmarks- the VR-zone bench is wacked.
1280x960 is this a mistake shouldnt it be 1280x1024 ?
if not why are you running at a res most people will never play at ?
on FSAA where your comparison pictures ?
your disputing actual screen shots ! can i borrow some of the drugs your on ?
1280x960 is a standard 4:3 resolution 1280x1024 isnt. while I game myself more at 1280x1024, its a valid option to use that resolution in a test.
Incidentally id like to point out I know a few people in this thread are using multiple accounts (no names mentioned just yet) so stick to the one account or both will be removed with IPs banned.
what about these ones ?
err could you tell me any well know hardware review sites that benchmark at that res as i cant think of any
Thanks for the link. looks fine to me, and there is no need to get a new card if you own a 6800 the xt does beat it but the fps is still very playable. Im quite happy with what my gt should get.
I would still like to know if it uses 3dc though
"Windows XP was installed, and all the motherboard BIOSes were set to support full APIC (advanced programmable interrupt controller) mode. We also installed Service Pack 1, and the latest (at the time of the start of this round of testing) chipset, graphics, and audio drivers. Networking was enabled on all systems. The desktop resolution was stepped up from 1024x768 in prior testing to 1280x960x32. We prefer the true 4:3 aspect ratio of 1280x960 whenever possible, as opposed to the 5:4 ratio of 1280x1024. Some images or fonts may not look quite correct at 1280x1024."

Does everything have to follow a set pattern, there arent hard and set rules which the top 3 hardware sites use that everyone else follows. Otherwise there would only be 3 sites in the first place and 50 clones. 1280x1024 is a "bastard" resolution and ive already explained my opinions on it, I know quite a few people who game at 1280x960 and in fact some games dont even have a 1280x1024 option.
Is it such a big deal in the first place? I mean you come here intent on causing issues with a 4 post count demanding everyone does this and that, and that isnt how it works here.
so a little tip, unbunch, take a deep breath then continue to post.
kinda getting annoyed now at all these people here flaming DH and the mods etc etc. he benched 3 times! he did a fresh winxp install.
he used multiple resolutions! there is not much difference between 960 and 1024 = 64 pixels.
its standart 4:3 aspect ration.
if you dont like the benchmark and think its biased or untruthful wait a few days and see other sites results. or buy the hardware and test yourself.
thumbs down for the new people who flame
"AntiAliasing and Anisotropic Filtering performance belongs to ATI for sure, especially at the higher resolutions."
Yeah, I agree with that statement.
i think the only time i demanded anything was when i posted a link to the FSAA difference between Nvidia and ati
the rest have just been questions
if you want to benchmark at that res it your choice its your site
I game @12/9 so I like them using that in reviews, I should get around 60fps with 4aa and 8af on, which I never really used before. Im normaly quite happy with 2aa and 8af, thats what you get after using a geforce3 for years (great card still)
Edit: Yeh twenty posts!
where on this site have a flamed him ? ive asked questions
and been answered
if i wanted to flame i would have put it directly not bothered asking questions
Come now, gentlemen. Let's not bicker over trivial things here. We're a friendly community.
I wish 4 extra pipelines were unlockable on my sapphire x800pro SAD PANDA
Havnt you gone a little far this time around?
I mean really... either your utterly incompetant with computers or your just pulled those figures out of the air and slapped them in a graph. Your Doom3 Benchmarks showed ATi faring MUCH better than any other site, and now you show this?
This website is fast becoming a laughing stock amongst the hardware communuty - its well known that you are an ATi site but this is just silly. At least pretend you are objective..
Is there some sort of recruitng process going on over at Nvnews or what :hmm:
Its like they took a bunch of you guys, and threw you into a bus, drove you over to this site, with signs and posters, just so you can b1tch and protest. :annoyed:
Ah, it's nice to see that somethings never change.
Well I can't say it influenced my decision much, I bought an X800 pro VIVO on Tuesday and it's on the FedEx truck coming to my house now; but you sure got me all uppity for it to get here quicker now!
