Since I just recently got the XFX 6950, dated just in Dec. 2011, I'm almost sure there is not BIOS switch to enable the 6970 mode. Although, I haven't even checked to find out if it does. I just kind of assume that this was "fixed" since the earlier versions were found to have it and then read that it was disabled on more recent models.

At any rate, I'm glad to know it's performing well compared to others.

Your clock speeds are showing 3D speeds....whereas mine are showing IDLE speeds. What's up with that?

actually it's not showing correct 3d speeds... you'll notice the core clock is totally not right

my car i picked up is the newest model sapphire makes.. it's the earlier versions that didn't have the bios switch built in.... this newer one does.

so it's worth looking at ..

even if it's just to shut down the machine... flip the switch and then load back up and see if you run into any stability/graphical issues... if no... WIN.. if not... well didn't gain/lose anything.. so no big deal.

Apparently my score is comparatively low: P13623

Haha nah, that's a wicked score almost 16K on gpu seems pretty good to me.

around 1250 core and +300 for memory (still trying to figure out the offset stuff is confusing)

Omega - did you reset your BIOS? I found that makes a difference to newly-installed graphics cards but I can never understand why, as there are no changes made.

Not yet, everything seems normal. Really all I'm worried about is cooling, GPU 2 runs at a cool 50C load in BF3 whereas GPU 1 is around 60-65 on a higher fan speed. Far as I know, the gpus will downclock once you hit 70C.

My OC settings right now are
    +135 Power limit
    +100 core voltage
+70 core (around 1220 in game)
    +300 memory

That was stable in BF3 I found the higher overclocks work in 3Dmark11 but crash in BF3. I have a feeling I could bench at crazy high clocks but that would never work in games.

Are you sure about that? Seems a pretty low temperature to disable or downgrade boost-clock at. Wouldn't want to have the fans running flat out unnecessarily.

Just ran mine last night but "Processor is not recognized" P15938

Wonder if there is a fix coming out to recognise the new CPU's :uhoh:

I like that one. "Processor not recognised" yet under the processor section it tells you what it is. My processor is recognised yet it says the clock speed is 0MHz and I have 0MB RAM.
    Go figure.

I'm surprised that 3DMark11 doesn't care more about all dem cores on the physics bench.

I still don't get how a 3930K gets a higher physics score than two 8-core Xeons (see Coolmister's link).

I don't know if running on the TV somehow affects the scores, but those results seem to be on the low side. A far as I know, an overclocked 7870 should have no problem beating a 6950, yet your graphics scores are lower than mine across the board, even though you generally have a faster system (which physics scores clearly show.

For image uploads, we generally use external upload sites, I prefer Photobucket. BTW, the sticky for the scores from the new 3DMark is here. :)

Thanks for the reply, are you running at 1920 x 1080 ? I would assume that effects the speed. I remember a few years ago ( before a decent graphics card ) I could run some games on my computer monitor, but on my t.v. they would just chop around before crashing.

P.S. I'll try reposting with your recommendations
