Wow, you lucky son a gun! That's an insane prize you received there. :p
That 4870x2 has a nice cooler.

Go for a True 120 eXtreme or True Black. Or Noctua has some nice (and very silent) coolers. Those would be my recommendations. ^^

Wow, congrats.. Isn't it fun winning stuff?
If I ever want to do some more hardcore gaming I'm gonna have to upgrade again soon.. I was going to go the Intel, Nvidia route. I'll be interested in the benchmark comparos for similar priced stuff from Intel/NV...

I received the same kit too! It's great except the 4870x2 I received is (perhaps) faulty, waiting for a solution to it then I'll post some pictures as well ^_^

still making arrangements on the necessary parts..... i'm tempted to just throw the HD4870x2 in the poor little machine i've got atm with a E5200... but the biggest PSU i have on hand is a OCZ Stealth Extreme 600watt which i could probably guarantee isn't going to quite cut it considering it's lightweight 12v rails

It's kind of funny all the stuff you won has to do with AMD, while the thread in which you won had to do with intel. ^^

it's also interesting that this will be my first AMD build for a considerable amount of time....

as my previous builds were the x2 4400+... and ONE 5200+ which i was really disapointed with.

So it's been awhile.. i've never touched a phenom let alone AMD since.

Although the Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe is pushing some pretty impressive figures still. It's made it's rounds around various people, and it's made it's latest home into my neighbours house.

My last AMD was a64 3500. I have had some experiences with the first batch of phenoms, they didn't overclock well at all >.< I'm sure phenom II will be a blast though !

I have a 4400+ as well. Has been running very good stable on stock since 3 years (more or less can't remember :p). Did you ever overclock them? If so, to which level?

Very nice Judas, be sure to post the finished results!

On the power supply front, those Corsair units are awesome if you can get one, but any good 1000W will be fine in that system I imagine.

My last AMD was a K6, and I still have it XD.

And wow again to DH... how the hell do you do this? So many forum users (including myself) have received major upgrades thanks to your giveaways.
