im currently playing with this... anyone guess?

    I would, but all the boards have 8x mechanical PCI-E 2.0.... would take a performance hit since current 4870X2s and their Nvidia counterparts take a slight performance hit from this, it would only get worse as new cards come out.


    EDIT: Except the one Asus that only has 1 16x PCIE, and I would imagine that gets changed to 8x when using more than 2 cards.

    hopefully as newer boards are released they'll have faster PCIe lanes

    my mac pro (similiar specs to a skulltrail) has dual PCIe 2.0 16x slots
