There's little doubt that plant-based meat substitutes have been popular, but when's the last time they triggered the kind of frenzies associated with movie aficionados and sneaker hypebeasts? Today, apparently. Beyond Meat and KFC have revealed that their Beyond Fried Chicken test in Atlanta sold out in less than five hours on August 27th, with lines "wrapped around the restaurant" from the moment the store opened. Restaurants only have so much food to go around in general, but this was apparently no mean feat -- KFC sold as much of the meatless 'chicken' as it typically sells popcorn chicken in a week.

Because humans are meant to eat meat and their bodies need it.

well it's kind of strange considering i've ran into a few vegans and vegitarians that claim that they dislike the taste of meat and it only reminds them of the poor treatment of animals (which is a bit of a groan).... but then in a wild reversal.... determine that veggy stuff that tastes as close to meat is all fine and dandy... There's some hypocrisy afoot.

You know what I like to do? Corrupt Vegans. How? By feeding them bacon. Converts them to meat 99% of the time.

All kidding aside, what is interesting here is that is neither Beyond Meat or Impossible Burgers are a healthier choice than meat. Quite the opposite. They may be healthier for the planet, but they are NOT healthier for the human body.

Beyond Meat ha 18 ingredients in it, the major ingredient being pea protein isolate, completely unhealthy, while Impossible Burgers has 21, the main ingredient being Soy and potato protein (and let's not forget that soy is one of the top 8 common food allergies to humans).

Point is, eat this s**t at your own risk.
