Re: It the combination of potential and temp

Whats serious about water cooling? I can cool my hand by running it under water-baed tap ;)

Now, Liquid Nitro Cooling on the other hand............ :)

    Nonono.

With liquid nitrogen you can only get down to about .... oh what was it... 70K?

What you need is a nice stack of peltiers on the cpu... both sides, of course. Then immerse the thing in mineral oil... drop in a freon heat exchanger and maybe you'll be able to turn your cpu into a superconductor!!!!

    Lol :D

addendum: don't get your hopes up it ain't happenin... to you, me or anyone else...

    "only 70 Kelvin" - snork...that's pretty darned cold :) (-203 C)
I think some liquid He cooling is in order (2 K or -271 deg C)

Yes yes, now if you can actually get some liquid helium... and maintain a liquid He cooling system... well lets say that your taxes are enough to fund a major public university. k?

    LOL...

Hey, check this out. As I am in Asia, I usually catch wind of new Taiwanese developments before anyone else. Anyway, I recently stumbled upon this gem, and thought you all would be interested:

Believe it or not, this is a confidential ThermalTake prototype. I've got some friends that work at ThermalTake, and they managed to get me one of these coolers.

It cooled my CPU to -273 degrees Celcius! Unforunately, my Athlon ceased to be matter at that point, and I could not grab a screenshot of the MotherBoard Monitor temperature.

Yeah, well, my motherboard reads the CPU temperature as "Absolute Zero" -- so there!

lol... better check your sensors there buddy... i think your cpu is dying a thermal death (misreporting temp at 0k... i mean come on  )

    Re:

Yeah, the only bad thing about this cooler is it violates the Laws of Thermodynamics. But, shoot, other than that, it's pretty wicked. Can't wait to use some Arctic Silver with it!
