My son and daughter-in-law told me I should check out this Netflix series that just premiered a few months ago. So far, there's only 8 episodes and I've watched the first four. It's got some very intriguing elements and is set in the 1980's in a rural Indiana town (which is my home state, btw).

If you like creepy X-Files, Goonies, and similar fare, this one should be on your list if you have a Netflix account.

Yeah it fab and really nails that 80's vibe it made me think of the Goonies, ET, Firestarter, The Thing, Carrie and Stand By Me .... Cant wait for series 2

I basically watched the entire series in one sitting.... yes it is good... quite good... and it doesn't pull any punches or dwell on stupid unrealistic drama or choices that 99% of the horror like shows do which make them terrible bloody shows/movies.... like someone running into oncoming death... Of course there are some exceptions where i'm like "seriously i can't see this character doing that.... but perhaps... i'll allow it"

2nd seasons been green lit... and it's already got several meme's floating around... usually tying in the scene and LoL or other multiple games where the community is pretty much entirely toxic.

I read about it being a great series but the synopsis I read about it, basically saying that a small boy went missing and the sheriff is going to look for him, didn't really pull me in.
Eventually I did come around to watching it and pretty much binged it all in one go. Very engrossing, it's great. There are very few shows that are able to do that to me (the expanse being the other one). I definitely recommend it!

I have Netflix but rarely use it. Although I doubt I'd be interested in this series.

If it doesn't have action, or guns, or sci fi, or japanese animation among other things, then its not my cup of tea. :p

that's a shame. But everybody likes different things! And a good thing too, or the world would be a very boring place.

The production company is now doing casting in our area for Season 2 of "Stranger Things". It's filmed here in Georgia.

Recently watched the Minority Report series.. and i was quite surprised to see how well it fell in line with the movie (as it takes place after the movie). Not only did they mostly stay true with a tight budget.. they brought back the film actor to play his original part.

    Sadly it was canceled...
