Is there a choice for you formated? You may need to do it I don't have any issues under my hood on 7 and 8 pro

It seems a known problem, even with stock drivers, and I found a strange (but working) solution around internet.
PC thinks that there are headphones connected; solution (it works also with settings lost at rebbot) is to set everything in control panel, then hybenate pc and wake up again.
Now you can reboot every time you want...

Just make sure you put the computer to sleep after you save your settings then wake then work.

I just did a clean install on my desktop with 8.1 pro.....

I installed the latest drivers creative has for the Xfi Titanium HD and the counsel launcher(listed under win 7x64 Applications).

I got sound fine....but now there is no sound after reboot.

I tried changed the speaker mode..did not do anything.

I tried the sleep fix....computer went to sleep but woke right back up...and rebooted and no sound....

The only thing that has worked is to un-install "Creative SB X-Fi" in device manger....then re scan for hardware changes several times and Windows re-installs devices. Sound then works fine....but it resets card to Game mode....and if you reboot....there is no sound again.

UPDATE:....read some where that the card is thinking head phones are plugged in.....even though the control counsel says speakers..... have the Auto enable headphones settings checked.... I plugged in some head phones....it switched to show headphones in use...then unplugged headphones and speakers work fine now...even after reboot..
