overkill to the max.
an FX-4170 would suffice
1) Obtain 790i motherboard bundle.
3) PCI video card.
4) Chuck on 3 PCI-E 2 x16 LSI SATA-3 raid cards.
5) 16 500MB/s SSDs per slot, raid 0.
5.a) Yes, that's 24GB/s storage throughput.
Dunno how you're gunna get a 24GB/s network connection to that poor chipset, but that's your problem
never in my day would I run a FX-4170.....
Just completed my fourth "rig for a friend" build of this year. All of them have been better than my own, lol.
This one is:
XFX Pro Series 450W
Gigabyte GTX 570 Windforce OC
Crucial 2*4GB 1333MHZ 8-8-8-20
Seagate 750GB Hybrid drive
Generic DVD-RW (2012!)
Arctic Cooling Alpine series cooler
Fractal Core 1000
The case has no cable-management at all, hence the spaghetti.
Charging him £380 plus his broken old PC, which I'll get about £50 for eBaying off in parts.
Scored just a touch under 6k in 3DMark11, and temps were well in order after a few hours of Prime95 + [email protected]
Aww, why didn't you do it for free?
All these kinds of builds tend to be like this. Example, both my sisters have better computers than me. lol
And cable management only goes as far as the skills of the one doing the cable management .
I generally make little or no profit after hardware purchases are considered
Yeah. I actually don't think the cabling in this one is as bad as it looks in the photo.
I thought I needed an upgrade. Damn dude, that thing is from before the dinosaur era!
Happy New Year guys!
Recently I've got myself some new hardware: a HIS IceQX HD7850 and a 1TB Storage HDD, and I thought it was a good time to finally show off my rig here
This is the first time I've ever got a decent job on cable management...
Got two blue LED Megaflow fans (front and top) installed... I can take some pictures of my rig while powered on later if you want to see (also, to show off my Razer Blackwidow that I also just got )
Nice one, looks really sweet.
I know you guys know. But, I'm going to put it up here just because
I'll take a better picture of it soon using a real camera.
Your cable management looks pretty good! A few minor areas of improvement here and there, but all the big things are taken care of .
I downgraded my main PC (Gaming RIG) from a Cosmos II to a Fractal Design Define 4 and SLI 680 Twin Frozrs to SLI 660TI DCUII. It makes for a quieter gaming build that still packs quite the punch.
Reason for this craziness...girlfriend moved in and complained about the size of the Cosmos 2. Also due to said girlfriend I don't have the time to fully utilize those 680's it was wise to sell them. Got both these 660TI's for the price of one of my 680s.
(sorry about the quality...also sold off the camera used in the first pic )
wires. wires everywhere!!! :wtf:
Yes, but that makes it look like a manly system. Which is nice if one is being whipped @home.
But girlfriend was right about the Cosmos!
So clean wiring isn't good?
There's always clean wiring but there are to many people don't want to see any wires...
I feel sorry for those people... Actually no I don't.
Meh, it's an OCD thing.
