During the PlayStation 4 Pro announcement, Sony said that the new model runs cooler than the older one. The first confirmation that the situation isn't as promised was during the failed stage demo for Final Fantasy XV, where the console froze during the gameplay. If an image by Twitter user @enMTW is legit, then the new console definitely suffers from overheating. The image shows that part of the console's casing is melted, but we can't confirm whether the burned part of the system's outside plastic chassis was caused by overheating or something else. We have yet to see whether there are overheating issues with the console or this false alarm. Source: Twitter
Same thoughts also, And it looks like many of the Twitters are saying the same thing.. I think someone may be trying to pull a fast one to cover a screw up perhaps.
Because of the direction the triangle is facing in the below pic, and that there is a square foot beside it.. this makes me believe that this is the front right of the console, so the spot that burned is beside and under optical drive. There's nothing else there as the CPU/GPU is on the front left, and the power brick takes up the entire back half of the case from right to left. There's another photo of that spot from the bottom:
This is how a PS4 from underneath looks.. The top is the front of the PS4, I touched mine after seeing this post., feels very cool to the touch on the casing.. And BTW my thumb covers a O.
If the extreme heat is at the red dot from inside, then the upper level would indeed lower itself towards the red dot due to gravity. At the same time the bottom end would also bend downwards and not upwards. But as we can clearly see, this is also towards the red dot area. Kind of impossible. What to me appears to be the case, something externally was responsible for this at the point of the red dot. Probably in more than one occasion. I seriously doubt the cause of this was from the inside. image upload no size limit
So the optical drive in on the front left? Then that means the CPU/GPU is on the front to mid right? So.. in the below photo, the top right is the spot in question... and there's nothing there.
I bet this guy left his bong beside the damn thing. That would account for the shape, and the.. "wet" feeling.
