Valve should be very interested in helping out these guys...... fantastic looking work....

I wouldn't trust any other publisher/distributor.... specially if they list it for free and steam/value allows for the use of their servers and update management

Everyone in the community is hoping they go that way but there must be a distributor for the console versions so it will depend on the contract they get.

EDIT: 3rd October

Great news everyone, the first Multiplayer testing of Project CARS occured today and it went smooth! The developers invited some members to try with them and discussed the progress with them live through a chat meeting. There were 13 players from US, Asia and Europe all playing together on the same server and there was no visible warping or other major issue like it was expected !
MP Test 2 will be on tomorrow @ 5pm GMT - Check the MP Videos @ the main forums and the newest trailer @ Gametrailers

no... lol

I don't think i'm even a member... i've visted the site several times.. but i didn't see any clear place to join... which obviously makes it difficult to download the game specially when it looks like it's specific to certain members with certain ranks

Ok so here how it work, you have the option to choose how much you want to help the devs fund the game using the tools and perks below.

"PROJECT CARS" TOOLS & PERKS...

Each Tool gives you some perks, for example:

Junior is the more limited version, you only have a few cars and tracks to play around and the patches only come once a month.

Full member is one of the most complete packages, only missing 2 tracks Nurburgring GP and Northampton if i recall.

GET HANDS ON WITH PROJECT CARS!

Getting involved with Project CARS has never been easier! Just follow these simple instructions...
1. Register on the forums
2. Become a Project CARS Team Member
3. Download the launcher from the link at the top of the forum
4. Install the launcher and start downloading the full client
You should then be able to log in to the game with your forum details.

Got some feedback? Head over to the Project CARS forums to talk directly with the team!

I hope the engine sound will improve because those sounds in the beginning there were horrible..

They have been tweaking them lately, so far the pagani huayra and the Caterham SP300R are some with quality sounds.
They are aiming to be at the same level or above of RaceRoom Experience, with time they will get there.

just thought i'd ask..
I hope you're not braking NDA with any of these posts..

I am currently in the beta for world of warplanes, but I cannot disclose anything (pictures, videos etc) regarding the game.

Its a different case, you are in a closed beta under a NDA consigment.
This is a project kinda like Kickstarter where the community funds the game and is able to play it, talk to the devs and give suggestions. The release of these images or info is something anyone that joins the project has access even the press that have accounts. And it is still in a pre-alpha (before becoming a beta).

They also have a weekly gallery @ their main website so the pictures are not a problem. :)

I just got this game. I must say it's surprisingly good. The sound is a little off par (not as good as Shift 2), and the FFB is not the best, but it's a lot more realistic feeling than the Shift series and it's pretty. The simulation level doesn't come close to that of Live for Speed, which is by far my favorite sim, but the graphics make up for that. Given more time, the devs should be able to exceed the GTR series and probably even rFactor in terms of FFB feel and realism.

EDIT: pCars has an FFB tweaking guide in the forum that I forgot to check out.

Big news everyone, RUF just joined Project CARS!
Project CARS will include four of Ruf’s icnonic German sports cars, bringing both a true classic and three current RUF models to the title.

1987 RUF CTR “Yellowbird”
Based on the Porsche 911 3.2, the 1987 CTR „Yellowbird“ is one of Ruf’s most iconic models.

2012 RUF CTR 3
20 years later, Ruf continued their famous CTR range with a new model as the third-generation CTR was unveiled in Bahrain in 2007.

2012 RUF Rt 12R
The Rt 12R is based on Porsche’s 997 platform as Ruf once again cut no corners to create a stunning driving machine.

2012 RUF RGT-8
Based on the brand new Porsche 991 model, the RGT-8 will be the first Porsche 911 body car to not be powered by the traditional flat six engine.

The developers also announced that they recently received a contact from a big German manufacturer interested in having their cars in Project CARS, the developers havnt said much more than this but the speculation is starting to rise @ the official forums !

More info @ the official website!

@skilineaddict, welcome to the project. Dont forget to give feedback about the FFB @the forums to help the game improve :)
