Is it better to O/C synchronized or not? See my current clocks in my signature. Should I try to go 255/255 or leave it like what it is now? And if I were to add RAM sinks..How much of the Memory do I have to cover? Cuz I have an old Rage128 card with a heatsink on it, but I know it won't cover the entire memory chips for all 4. (Probably not gonna do it but just for curiosity's sake)

Another question, CPU O/Cing tho, If I set my SDRAM/PCI ratio to 4/3 and get to 961 Mhz stable. Is it better to do that or stay at 949 Mhz leaving it on auto. I benched both results and I'm losing 3DMarks on the 961 Mhz. But 3DMarks aren't everything...I just want some thoughts into this.

synchronized overclocking on a radeon is always a must..do you have an le model 8500...if so you can do a volt mod to it with a pencil easy and clean...you could reach 290/290.

for the cpu id leave it at 949 mhz.

    Re:

Why is this? I've run mine at 325/315 with absolutely no problems.

    Thanks,

    8500 retail

newbie when it comes to oc'ing... is there any simple way to do a volt mod on a retail 8500 64mb, and what does the volt mod improve to get more mHz than naturally?

I don't really see anything wrong with running your card with unsynchronized mem settings.

I can tell you that there is a major performance increase when running 275/320 as opposed to 275/275....
