    Can't rotate desktop with 9800np

I've got problems with the drivers. When I install them, the driver-setup gets 2 errors:

    1. "no dx9 installed", but i have installed it, it's dx9b!
    2. "zero device exception" short before the setup finishes.

The I get some serious performance problems after the first restart, but after the second one they work quite fine.

The main reason why I installed the omega drivers was, that i can rotate my desktop, but this feature is not available at my pc. when I install them on my notebook (its an acer travelmate 800lci with mobility radeon 9000) it works fine and there occur no errors.

maybe you could give me an advice to get rid of these problems, or fix them, if these are bugs.

But all in all great work!!

    Macrovision

Do these drivers attempt to disable Macrovision detection like the Plutonium drivers did?

try installing the drivers manually or installing 'em without the softmods, that for the first problem

So, is it safe to install ATI's fix for Call Of Duty over the Omega drivers? I haven't seen a reply yet regarding this....

I think this fix is a completely new 3.10 driver suite, only missing some testing and WHQL approve, so it might not be safe to install them over the Omega drivers. The new omega drivers should be here in couple of days when the 3.10 is officially released.

I'm sorry - and I don't know if this has been mentioned on this thread before, but dxdiag direct 3D tests are messed up with these drivers.

It doesn't matter what options you select when installing, when you run the directx direct 3D tests instead of seeing a smoothly spinning cube, all you see is a rapidly spinning blur that vaguely resembles a cube.

So something seems to be very wrong with them.

Moreover uninstaling them and reinstalling the ATI official drivers has no effect - the bug persists after uninstall. I suspect this is because something is installed, or something in the registry is permanantly changed.

I was only able to sucessfully complete all the direct 3D tests after a full OS reinstall.

    Just thougt you should know.

    Enabling Vsync usually solves that

Unfortunately I did. But It was a new OS install on a new computer. So not such a big deal.

Doesn't the wait for Vsyc have some frame limiting qualities? I'm just curious why I need to do it with the Omega drivers but not for the ati ones?

V-sync limits FPS for screen vertical refreshrate. So if your refreshrate is 75, your FPS won't go over it. I think it only matters in Counter-Strike, where crosshair goes to normal faster when you have more fps. But try it yourself, if your image tears and you don't like it, turn v-sync on. Otherwise keep it off. So simple :)

    Hello,

I have a Radeon Mobility 7500 for my laptop. I've tried to install the new omega drivers from the device manager, and what it does is just installs the old factory drivers. How can I fix this problem? When I tried to install it regularly, it gives me the "INF not found" error

    Thanks

Actually I have. It says "directory does not contain the correct files" or something like that =\

Also, when I try it with the catalyst drivers, it says something like, "cannot find supported hardware" or something of the sort. I don't know what's going on.
