It's good you are looking after your Father... It's a hard job, I know.
My grandmother on my mother's side had Alzheimer's so I know how it is, my parents looked after her and it isn't easy at all.
Edit: I should add, the worst part was when she forgot everyone around her, including me, and had to be reminded over and over, that was tough.
My dad is not at that stage yet (Always gets our Names mixed up with others in the family but mainly with my 3 sisters) does not get my name wrong as I am the only Man out the four kids he has..
But I do fear the days when he does forget who we are in the future..
amazing what you can do when you’ll find anything else to occupy your time rather than do housework
new phone is taking a bit of time getting here, as I knew it would. no problem, I have backups.
or so I thought.
backup #1 was ‘borrowed’ by family member, and has disappeared.
backup #2 was ‘borrowed’ by (different) family member, and has disappeared.
backup #3 works just fine, but has the habit of claiming 90% battery life, then 3 mins later shutting off and demanding to be plugged in.
so one of my cats collapsed a shelf the other weekend, and picking everything up I stumbled on the following.
my old Google LG Nexus 4.
which years ago i bricked, real bad, and couldn’t get back.
but try (and fail) to fix that again, or housework......
tl:dr - I fixed a long, long, long, loooong dead thing that I genuinely never thought would work again.
running perfectly on a nice stable 7.1 build
I like bringing dead stuff back to life
Because your wife is going to kill you for not doing the housework.
nah, I’m sending her away for xmas, got it sorted mate
Happy New Year gents
Well, as I have been a Self Employed window cleaner for 25 years.. Something happened today that were not expected..
Just finishing up for the days work, suddenly while putting my ladders back onto my van I got surrounded by the local police..
The first question were "Is this your van" so I said no but I have access to it with my business partner.. May I just ask why you are asking..
The officer replied, That the description of this van and registration has been given to us as it has been reported in an burglary very close to were you are.. Left me a little
Me and my Partner had just had to spend half an hour explaining who we both are and what we are doing here.. And where we have both been in the last couple of hours.. And all the questions that include "Are you Known to the Police" (As in A Record of criminal activity) etc..
All the questions asked (Including a background check) all checked out (It possibly helped that I always carry my driving licence on me)
I know they were only doing their job, But I have not felt that uneasy for some time.. Just nice to hear her say "I'm convinced with everything I said (And my Partner) we are not involved..
So... What did you steal?
Yeah I used to get nervous around police when I was younger, but I've dealt with them a lot now for various reasons so now I'm used to them.
eBay have just bitten a giant (45%) chunk out of the teeny tiny wedge of cash I had left to last until the end of the month
that fecking cnut who scammed me at Xmas still managing to completely rip the piss
I hate eBay and everything it stands for these days so goddamn hard
I swear I may struggle to just feed the animals for the next 10 days, and although not entirely, partly because some fucker changed his mind about buying a phone and lied to get away with it
@niceguyrichy Sorry to hear that!
That's crap on more than one level!
Customers can be as rotten as the sellers, there has to be some balance in how these things are treated. It's either "the customer has no rights" (which is usually the case towards IP holders these days), or "the customer is always right" (usually when buying goods, where people can be idiots and then realize that something's cost them too much money, or that they haven't done the research into how the thing works and what exactly it does, or change their minds for whatever other reason and just dump their problem onto the seller).
BTW, I'm trying to flog my old graphics card on our local flee-bay. At least these guys don't process payments, so the most a buyer can do is leave me an angry comment (which is not such a big deal for me, I guess, as I rarely sell stuff).
been sick this week
not ‘man flu’, which is just pussys making a fuss about sniffles, actually sick.
thought the living room was cold. I’m wearing 2 jumpers (I’m warm blooded, I’m that arsehole wearing a T-shirt in midwinter going ‘what? it’s lovely..’), but still cold.
weather has gotten real cold, ground properly solid when I’m out first thing looking after the animals, so I just thought it was cold.
just applied hand cream. my hemp based hand cream is, in the height of summer, the consistency of chilled butter.
in this room right now, it’s basically liquid.
I think I might be ill...
Go see the doc.
I have a bad cold, don’t need a doc
I need fluids and time, that’s all
At least check your temperature... If it's 104 or below, you're good. If it gets to 105, well make sure you have a will.
Also, binge on vitamin C and Zinc for the immune system.
If it is above 105 go see a doc.
And also include me in the will. I am but a pauper compared to you. Leave me a cat or two.
