I'm going to upgrade my sound card from SB0460 to SB0770 and i just want to know if it's worth it, as in a major difference between these two cards' performances and quality. and if PAX drivers are compatible with this model (SB0770) guess that's all for now. Thanks :)

Buddy, both cards are the same, except for the fact that SB0770 has a new ASIC chip named CA0112. It is responsible for adding compatibility with Microsoft's Windows Vista, 7 and 8 Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) feature. That means you would be able to LISTEN to BASIC sound even if you would have no drivers installed at all. Useless for me and probably for you too.

Although this is a XtremeGamer card, it does not come with the extra 64MB of X-RAM, ok? It is just the basic model, which is an exact copy of SB0460 except for the CA0112 UAA chip. Both have the same specs.

Also, I would suggest you do NOT use PAX drivers at all. Delete them and, if possible, reinstall Windows to ensure you get rid of the PAX's modifications to Windows registry.

Use latest Creative's own, unmodified drivers. Use only PAX's DVD suite to install extra and updated software, like THX console, which cannot be found on Creative's support/download page.

I suggest you watch my video where you will learn to properly configure your current 0460 card or whatever X-Fi you may ever have. I am sure you will be able to get the best sound out of it.
