The Apple store is one of the largest in the world, with over 85,000 applications available for download - it really is a huge cash cow for Steve Jobs and the gang. Recently however we have seen a lot of complaints from end users stating that when they buy an app they don't like or can't use there is no way to get their money back in a 'claim'.

The New York Times recently wrote that there is only one case when a refund can be given to a user and that is under Paragraph 12B of the Apple App Store Terms and Conditions - basically if a technical issue delays the delivery of a product.

Apple claim that unless there was a problem with the delivery then no refund can be given to the end user. In theory this seems fair, but let's be honest there are many applications on the store which really aren't worth the time downloading, never mind paying for. There is even the theory that friends of the app creator can easily log in and write a review giving glowing reports -- affecting the balancing of the user reviews and scores.

At the end of the day however, with over 2 billion downloads by late September this year, we are sure that Apple feel they are doing something right.
