really... you went with a 100mbps elcheapo switch... after you were about ready to dump 500 dollars on an insane router?

Hey, you're the one who told him to drop wireless and get physical. :p

I used a similar (just older) 5 port TP link thingy until my ISP upgraded me to a multiport modem/router. Apart from that, I've had a 1Gbps switch on my "to buy" list for ages and I've still hadn't gotten round to it, which only goes to show how much (little) I really miss having one: it happens maybe 2-3 times a year that I really regret not having anything faster than 100Mbps, but by the next day, I just forget about it completely. Because it just is that sort of a device - it gets the job done and there are 0 issues with it, plug it in and forget it exists.

So yeah, if the idea is to just link a few devices together, el cheapo is the reasonable way to go, in my opinion. :) Plus if it does turn out that cabling his PS4 is too inconvenient, he has hardly overinvested in this solution.

Hm, looking at the specs, I don't see that it can work at 1000Mbps, you can plug such a device in, but it's going to work at 100Mbps. If you want 1Gbps, you need something like TP-LINK TL-SG1005D (notice that the designation "conveniently" only differs by one letter). It's just $20 too. :) It will make a difference when you need to move several GBs of data between your machines. 10GB at 100Mbps takes around 15 minutes. Also, if your Internet connection is already 100Mbps, I wouldn't bet against you going for something faster at some point (although that switch is cheap enough that you don't necessarily have to think about futureproofing).

My new frames, Modern Visa frames:

They look A LOT better in person, I like the simplistic design. I'm not a high fashion kinda guy and these go with my t-shirt and jeans look really well.

these are not "high fashion"... it's been a rehashed or mostly "modernized" version of the simplistic 50/60's style black rimmed glasses.... I can't stand it when someone throws out to the general public and dictates what is "in fashion now"... irritates the hell out of me how pleebs and sheep just fall in line... even had a person working in at an optometrist insist on repeatedly bringing basically the same damn thing over and over again while i was trying to find something that was actually not barbarically in design... again flash back to the 50's era....to which i asked her if she could see that they were essentially the same thing and that i didn't like the general appearance... to which she simply stated that "It's the in fashion now and that you're too stuborn to accept that"... to which i clarified, that there simply wasn't going to be anyway for me to do business with a group of people that are relabeling and making minor and insignificant alterations to essentially the same thing and calling it something else... i could care less what is the fad of the day is.

Lol, thanks Trusteft. And Judas I wasn't saying they were "high fashion", I was saying the exact -opposite-, that they are not high fashion glasses, which I like.

I almost went with a Red Dragon pair of frames only because I liked the way they felt on my face, but these were both cheap (without looking cheap) and suited me, so I chose them. The dark blue crystal look of the plastic goes very well with my dark complexion.

With the activation of my Left Side CI, I'm too impatient for the STEREO experience while gaming! :) So, I picked up these.... One each for the XBOX One and one for the PS4.

It will actually be a few months before I benefit fully from the Left CI. My brain has to learn how to interpret the signals being sent to the sensors in my cochlear. It's a natural process and one I went through with the first, right side CI last year.
