No option for that... .I just may need to get used to the sound not being quite as crisp as optical playback to my soundbar…

Are you an audiophile? My little bro is one and let me tell you, the amount he spends on speakers alone boggles the mind. I just sit there and tell him he's crazy lol.

That's odd that it has no optical. Omen's usually it.

Mig.. do me a favor. Open your case up. Does your board look like this:

If so, see that black piece about 2-3 inches down on the top left side of the picture? Just above the single USB 3.0 port (the red lonely port)? If it's there, that's the SPDIF port. If it is there, it could be that they've just blocked off the port from access. Problem is that you'd have to disassemble the board in order to take out the back panel plate.

Edit: I just remembered.. there are 2 versions of the Obelisk board, and one doesn't have the SPDIF port.

Its a HP... I don't see the issue. I have already removed all the trash that comes with it.
    Intel I have used 95% of the time...Again I don't see the problem.. ;)

But believe me, It did not cost me any where near the retail price..(that were way over the top) I'm not going to say how or where... appart from saying it is a little bit HOT!

The pics I posted were and specs were taken online..

@MIG-31 That's great that you didn't pay full price for it, if that's the case then I support you fully.

Thankfully I had a month to return it if there were any issues, I could not get it to stop randomly freezing and rebooting..

This happened at least twice a day... It had three Firmware updates and it still continued.

May of been the reason it were cheap to begin with.. (Perhaps Faulty) I don't think I will be touching a HP in the near future..

I've always trusted Alienware myself, even though I've never actually owned one.

I'm just interested in the reasoning. Not saying he's wrong, or right... just like to know his point of view as to why.

For myself, the 2060 is roughly the same price as the RX 5700 XT, yet the latter is faster, technically, and I get that. I'd still get the Nvidia card as "personally" I find the drivers to be better for gaming, but I'd still consider the RX 5700 XT. Having said that, if the card was going to be used for editing too, I wouldn't hesitate to lean towards the 2060. If you're using Adobe products, it's a must. It's faster with most editing software (AMD and Adobe don't always get along), and more stable (I've had a lot of trouble with AMD cards when they are used for editing purposes).

more of a curiousity.. but it's kind of weird because my experience with adobe programs, namely photoshop and illustrator i've had essentially no call in with amd cards where as the nvidia cards have been having plenty of problems... and specially in the last couple years, nvidia's drivers have been utter crap with plenty of reported bsods or crashes. Hell even just recently built to customers demands, an nvidia based system and even some of the tests would refuse to work and initially i thought it was just a bad card, but nope, driver problems even running 3dmark... the stress tests would repeatedly fail which isn't any real surprise since nvidia has been at it again caught over optimising, specially at the expense of visual quality.

Looking at what's available, the 2060 is considerably slower than even a rx 5700, the rx 5700 xt tends to compete and tends to surpass the 2070 and come within range of the 2080, the 2070 super is just a hair faster in most things.
