seeing as the other 3 threads relating to this were gettign slightly old, its time for a new one my current setup may appear slightly strange to some of you gamers i have a Soundblaster Audigy ES powered by the kX Project Audio Drivers fed into a Behringer UB802 Mixer, which then output to a pair of Edirol MA-10Ds i also have a Sennheiser Evolution e 817 Microphone for recording purposes, which is connected to the mixer and fed into the soundcard. EDIT: i have now added an Audigy 2 ZS to the mix, 8 mono inputs now
I have an Audigy 2 zs with a Logitech Z5300. With those I play games and watch dvd movies and for that this combination is great.
hmm... Well, I've upgrade to Audigy 2 ZS from Audigy Platinum recently... I pay much attention to static in audio, therefore I'm now completely satisfied... ...must also have to do something with upgrading from Megaworks 510D to Gigaworks S750... Drivers... Well, I'm back to Creative, eventhough my heart lies in kX. Still, there's a lot to be done in kX releases to fully integrate the ZS's potential...
I have an M-Audio Revolution 7.1 hooked up to a Yamaha RX-V1400 receiver (110W/ch, 7.1, DPLIIx) w/ seven Dahlquist speakers & a Infinity 12" sub. Speaker setup is: Dahlquist QX8.......( F-L/R ) Dahlquist QX50C......( C ) Dahlquist QX6.......( S-L/R ) Dahlquist QX5......( SC-L/R ) Infinity PS-12....( Subwoofer )
My hometheater pc now consist of Creative Audigy 2 ZS with Kx drivers directly connected to my digital active speakers Meridian DSP 5000. I will put these as back channels when funding allows for Meridian DSP 5500 fronts. Digital active speakers kicks azz!
Hi guys. Remember me? lol. Anyway, at the moment, I have a Philips Aurilium 5.1 soundcard with the Grado SR-60 headphones. I must say, after burning in the SR-60's and connecting them to the headphone output of this soundcard, I've heard some of the best sound I've heard from a computer ever. Too bad they discontinued Aurilium cuz it couldn't keep up with Audigy 2 NX sales . (I've never tried the Audigy 2... I'll have to try it sometime. I hope it's good. If it's better than this card, then I'll have to buy .)
Audigy 2ZS /w Klipsch Promedia's 5.1's. I've been very satisfied with the speakers for quite awhile now. I'm using Grado's as well.
logitech Z-680s, replaced that crap 18 qauge wire that came with it with 14 gauge monster cable. i also you an optical connection, 4ft MC optical cable. ive got those plugged into my onboard realtek ac-97. sounds absolutly amazing, very crisp, very clear, and very very very loud. when i crank it up i dont see the cats for the rest of the day.
I currently have an AD1980 Onboard *glare* but soon will have an M-Audio 7.1 Revolution hooked up to some Bose Companion 3 Speakers I love these things
Sennheiser PC150 how are those headphones? i just splurged and purchased a set of Sennheiser HD497's. Don't know what to expect.
how are those headphones? i just splurged and purchased a set of Sennheiser HD497's. Don't know what to expect.[/QUOTE] Very high quality, comfortable, sound excellent.. I would recommend to anyone. Mic is also very good, with switch - and there is a volume control in line. I got them for around $40 on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...37/102-7878256-5072140?v=glance&s=electronics Also- they take a few hours to "break in" - the more you use them the better they sound
i just got my Sennheiser HD497's today. and wow what impressive headphones. very clear, and nice low bass for headphones. my only beef is that they are too tight for my large head
I think maybe putting some pads right above the ear pads will help- like the pads on the inside of a bicycle helmet. I think I will try that, if it works I will show some pics.
