Having used the ikari for over 6 months now all I can say is that Steelseries rocks. I love the understated looks of their mice. This one looks really nice too, and it's good news for the left handed that were left out by the ikari (no pun intended :)).

Thank you for the review. It sounds like a great mouse. I trust Steelseries to make a good product. I wish I could say I appreciate the looks. It looks damn ugly to me.
On the other hand, the most beautiful mouse (Sidewinder) is for me the worst mouse so...

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like the steelseries mice, they are understated and functional.

Great optics in their mice, this looks to be even better than the ikari which I didnt think was actually possible, although my brother has that razer MMO mouse and it is really good, even though it wouldnt be my personal cup of tea. 'the naga' was it ?

Awesome mouse there, but does any serious gamer use cursor acceleration at all?

+1 for Ikari. I've been using mine for pretty close to a year now and comfort wise it > anything else.

sounds like an awesome mouse, but i'm not a fan of that 'either hand' design.
i do use one of my comps left handed every day, but not for gaming, so for my 55 quid i'd want one of the ergonomic moulded right-hand mices i'm afraid :)
its just one of those things. like i can eat with knife and fork either way round, but usually prefer to eat left handed for example.

    nice review as ever ;)

it almost brings tears to my eyes..... the long forgotten left-handed gamers... their cries for a good gaming mouse... answered with their flagship product....

even though my right hand has progressed greatly in its dexterity and accuracy.... thanks to the ikari laser...

to the point where i regularly place top 3 in any server i play of most FPS's, my skill with my left is vastly superior...... i can probably use a sniper in close range with my left pretty consistently...

i think that an ergonomic left hand mouse would be great but ive always been used to ambidextrous design mice with my left

The mouse looks good, but I picked up my Current G9X for $59, I'm very satisfied so I won't be updating my mouse for a while.

I used the G9 before my Ikari Laser and i must say if the Xai is better than the Ikari Laser then you are missing alot its way better than the G9 performance wise

    G9x is not the G9 :)

I'm not disagreeing this is a nice mouse, just saying for the price I paid for mine, I'm quite content.

I've never blamed a mouse for me being unable to headshot something. :p

@Zardon Nope i havent got it most likely tomorrow then

@SeraphicSorcerer Agreed my opinion on G9X was just a G9 with higher DPI

I finally had a play with this mouse today and I have to say im extremely impressed - ive been using the ikari laser since it was released and this is even better which I find hard to believe.

I also wouldn't let the ambidextrous shape put you off, its extremely comfortable - in either hand.
