    Well I guess I'm lame.
I would say that if I had one I would probably be swinging it like a mad man myself.
    :)
I think the difference though would be, now that I've seen all these problems, I would put myself some non-slip grippy tap (like for a tennis racket) and maybe put my own nylon cord in place of the straps that come with the mote itself.

Must admit it is easy to get "into the game" - still, not come close to losing a grip on the remote as yet. I can see how adding and removing the nunchuck can wear the chord down though, so it may be weakened that way. I've got a couple of silicon gloves on the way for the wiimotes, so hopefully the Christmas festivities won't be marred by me crying at my broken plasma...

from my own experience it seems near impossible to swing the controller and have it break the strap and leave your personal space. I've had once where i swung (baseball) and the controller slipped out of my hand due to the fact its smooth however the strap is easily strong enough to take the weight provided you tighten it properly before use...or use it at all which some of these clowns probably have not.

Absolutely hilarious - and true! Reminds me of my seven year old using the GameCube (whoops, the controller, even with two hands...)   Thanks for the laugh!

I bet most of these people have never played sports. Still, grip of some sort should be required.

Shhees saw this on national news again today on a different station.. More reports of damage, bodily injury.. all kinds of things.

Looks like it is a poor design for it's intended use - combined with some crazy people- causes lots of accidents.

I heard about some buy punching his GF & giving her a black eye during a session of boxing. See my tag line...
It's all just too damn funny.

Anything from the sun basically means the article is extremely exaggerated.
