I have not heard a word.
My guess is that creative do not care to fix this at all.

They have did what they should with the 'new' driver for Windows 8 (its the old driver from 2011, but the have put in support windows 8)

Changelog: added support for windows 8 (nothing more)

Îòâåò: Windows 8 Release Preview Settings not saving

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! I managed to win this creative bug in Windows 8. First you have to configure the creative console launcher, then transferred to the PC sleep mode, then turn on the PC and restart it. All settings are stored perfectly.
Sorry for "the" English, I'm from Russia, had to translate google translate

I am using this version of PAX MASTER PCI X FI ALL Driver OS Suite v2.25 Default Tweak edition. Setup drivers mode windows "mode disable driver signature enforcement".

P.S. Grateful for pac driver Robert McClelland

My sound card creative x-fi xtreme gamer PCI

    Can anyone help my message.

Yeah, it's what I've been saying at here.

You see, the bug is still there on RTM and no one seems to even care about it.

There is a guy who promptly replied to me saying my tip did not solve the problem, but I have tested it infinite times and it always works. Any changes to Console Panel you want to preserve? Shutdown first before restart, as simple as that, although not less annoying anyway.

Also, maybe it's important to note I'm against the tweaks of the drivers distributed at this forum, so I always install vanilla drivers and software by replacing the "driver" folder on DVD suite with the official ones from Creative support page. I only use Mr. McClelland's DVD suite to get complete updated software for my sound-card which, by the way, is PCI ExtremeMusic.

New drivers have been released today! :taste: SBXF_PCDRV_WIN8_BETA_US_2_18_0015A.exe (Sept. 27th, 2012)

Can someone test and post results?

I am really sorry about this, but I do have to say that your information is unfounded. I have fresh installed Windows 8 RTM (Enterprise Evaluation), and 100% updated it through Microsoft Update and I assure you the problem is still there!

I installed Creative's Sept. 27th drivers, vanilla, downloaded directly from Creative's support page for my X-Fi, then added software like Console Launcher and THX Console from DVD Suite (both latest versions).

Whatever changes to console launcher you make will be 100% forgotten if you reboot without shutting down first.

for those that have had the problem of the creative console resetting itself to it’s default after every reboot. It appears that in win8 microsoft to speed up boot and close down doesn’t save default positions. However it does if you can get the computer to “sleep” . try it it may just ease the level of frustration with creative support.
