Core 2-Component: thermal glue at Alphacool!

Core 2-Component: thermal glue at Alphacool!

This time we are going to talk about Alphacool which launches a new thermal interface. No, it’s not thermal paste, but thermal glue. Indeed, with its Core 2-Component, the brand offers something to glue your heatsinks on your components!

Core 2-Component: to glue and cool at the same time!

With this new product, the brand offers us a thermal interface based on aluminum nitride (70% to 73%). Its presence allows this glue to guarantee a thermal conductivity of 0.9 W/mk. Moreover, this glue will not be conductive, so it can be used almost anywhere without fear of a short circuit.

Moreover, glue also means drying time. On this subject, the mark indicates a surface drying time of 2 hours at 25°C. However, the glue will be completely dry after 5 to 7 days, still at an ambient temperature of 25°C.

Finally, why use thermal glue instead of paste? On some types of components, unfortunately, there is no choice. We are thinking in particular of the Raspberry Pi and other boards of this kind: ODROID, Arduino, etc. Here, no choice. Similarly, for some DIY on a graphics card for example, this type of glue may be appropriate if you want to mount a heatsink on the VRM.

In short, the brand sells its syringe of 5 grams at 6.19 €.
