Cyberpunk 2077: Nvidia’s benchmarks and recos

NVIDIA has just released its own benchmarks for Cyberpunk 2077 by running the new game on various GeForce RTX 30 and GeForce RTX 20 GPUs. The benchmarks were made with RTX and DLSS enabled to show the full potential of its technologies.

Cyberpunk 2077: the new Crysis on PC?

A few hours ago, THW had also presented its analysis on the game and performance on different PC configurations. The conclusion we could all draw was that Cyberpunk 2077 was the new Crysis of PC gaming: capable of bringing the most robust PC configurations to their knees. Nvidia tries to “correct” the previously delivered version by giving its own measurements while suggesting the right settings to save the furniture. cyberpunk-2077-nvidia-geforce-recommended-system-specs

The DLSS this saviour

Without DLSS and with RTX: no better than 22 FPS in 4k… The official Nvidia benchmarks of Cyberpunk 2077 give a completely different reading of the situation. Although no card provides a stable 60 FPS at 4K or 1440p resolutions with all parameters set to maximum, with Nvidia’s magic wand called DLSS, the large cards in the range can offer a substantial increase in performance when running the title at higher resolutions. However, it should be understood that previous performance for GeForce RTX and Radeon RX GPUs has been measured on an uncorrected version of the game which clearly did not support the appropriate drivers. AMD also showed up by releasing an optimized driver for its RX 6000 cards a few hours ago. It is therefore expected that new tests will be released soon with an increase in performance over previous drivers. Finally, a huge 50GB patch for PC gamers is also available for download at the beginning of the release to solve performance issues and provide a more optimised experience.

3080 and 3090 for comfortable 1440P…no more?

here are some synthesis elements on the performances measured on the Nvidia cards :

  • 60 FPS + at 1080p (Ultra / RT Ultra / DLSS Q / P) – RTX 3060 Ti and more
  • 60 FPS + at 1080p (Ultra / RT Ultra / Native Res) – RTX 3080 and above
  • 30 FPS + at 1440p (Ultra / RT Ultra / DLSS Q / P) – RTX 3080 and above
  • 30 FPS + at 1440p (Ultra / RT Ultra / Native Res) – RTX 3080 and above
  • 30 FPS + at 2160p (Ultra / RT Ultra / DLSS Q / P) – RTX 3090 and above
  • 30 FPS + at 2160p (Ultra / RT Ultra / Native Res) – N / A
