Cyberpunk 2077: the recommended configurations are detailed!

We are less than 20 days away from the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 and the PC configurations necessary to run the title are officially announced. So, is your PC able to run the next CD Projekt Red title? Let’s have a look at it.

Cyberpunk 2077: then, what is the configuration to play it?

Cyberpunk 2077 config

CD Projekt Red offers a detailed list of recommended configurations. There are several levels of detail depending on the resolutions you want. For example, the most accessible configuration displays a GTX 780 or an RX 570 with a Core i5 3570K or an FX 8310 and 8 GB. This should make the game accessible to a lot of machines.

In 1080p with high details, the first thing you notice is that you will need more RAM to play: 12 GB. Also, the CPU and GPU recommendations are revised upwards. Here, a Core i7 4790/Ryzen 3 3200G and a GTX 1060 6 GB/GTX 1660 Super or an RX 590 will be required. If you want to play in 1440p Ultra, you keep these features. However, the graphics part will be more demanding since you will be switching to RTX 2060 and RX 5700 on the AMD side.

The 2160p (UHD) will require even more RAM: 16 GB while the CPU part remains unchanged on the Intel side. Here, an i7 4790 quad core will do the trick. On the other hand, it will be necessary to switch to a larger CPU in AMD with a Ryzen 5 3600. On the graphics side now, RTX 2080 Super / RTX 3070 or RADEON RX 6800 XT seem to be indispensable. Here, we type in the top of the basket.

With the RTX now

If you want to benefit from real-time reflection effects, you’ll have to switch to more muscular machines. Thus, in 1080p with a RayTracing in medium, an RTX 2060 and 16 GB are necessary. The same applies to the CPU side where the requirements are similar to a game running in 1080p High or 1440p ultra : Core i7 4790 or Ryzen 3 3200G.

In 1440p RayTracing Ultra, the 16 GB of RAM are still required and the machine will immediately need a Core i7 6700 or Ryzen 5 3600. For the graphics part, you will have to turn to the RTX 3070 side.

Finally, a UHD with RayTracing always in ultra, there will be no change on the RAM or CPU side. On the other hand, the graphic part continues to swell and there, an RTX 3080 seems to be the obvious choice!

An SSD required!

Finally, we finish with the aspect of storage. For this, CD Projekt Red announces that a 70 GB SSD is recommended. Although the title will still work on a hard disk, using an SSD will make it more comfortable and will greatly reduce the loading time in game.

In short, since the first demos that required unusual configurations to shoot, we can say that the studio has come a long way. Thus, a “simple” RTX 2060 and a quad core CPU would be able to run the game in 1440p ultra. As a reminder, during theE3A RTX Titan and a Core i7 8700K and 32GB were at work despite an unknown resolution.
