Future Core i5/i7/i9 Rocket Lake-S performance

Not a day goes by without its more or less reliable leak on the performance of a future Intel Core 11-xxx Rocket Lake-S processor.

Almost an idea about the performance of all Rocket Lake-S processors

As a reminder, this 11th generation is expected during the month of March as we have mentioned here. It will be the last round of 14nm engraving at Intel but this generation will however introduce some interesting new features prefiguring the future. We were able to gather here tests on the upcoming Core i9, Core i7 and Core i5, under Geekbench. The benchmarks show a spectacular gain for the Rocket Lake in monothread performance. It is on this basis that Intel intends to highlight its processor, especially in terms of “gaming” performance to better confront AMD. The processors tested are Core i9-11900K, Core i9-11900KF, Core i7-11700K, Core i7-11700, Core i5-11600K, Core i5-11500 and Core i5-11400. All processors were tested on 400 or 500 series motherboards. While Geekbench is not THE perfect test, it does give an objective idea of what these new references will give. However, there is still a question mark because in some cases, the memory used with these new Intel processors is clearly undersized in terms of frequency. If this is not a display bug, it could simply indicate that the results obtained here will have to be re-evaluated upwards. Rocket Lake-s Single Core Geekbench Rocket Lake-s multi Core Geekbench

The last unknown…

There remains obviously the last unknown which is in fact the couple availability / price. Intel is expected at the turning point on the price and it seems that this Rocket Lake-S series should be positioned a little below the old 10 series in terms of price. There will therefore remain the question of availability that could allow Intel to continue to nibble market share to AMD in a particularly complicated context.
