Hyper 212 EVO v2: update of the famous Cooler Master heatsink

The famous Hyper 212 from Cooler Master is back with an updated model. The Taiwanese firm announces its Hyper 212 Evo v2. An updated version that won’t interfere with memory!

With this model, the brand announces a rather compact heatsink. Indeed, it has dimensions of 120 (W) x 80 (D) x 155 (H) mm, with fan. It should therefore fit easily into a large number of housings.

The heatsink itself remains rather classic as it is a stack of aluminium fins. These are crossed by a total of four copper heat pipes, which are not nickel-plated. These will come into direct contact with the CPU at the base. In fact, the base is slightly off-centre towards the front in order to ensure maximum compatibility with the RAM.

This v2 comes with a single 120mm fan, a non-luminous Sickleflow 120. Powered by PWM, this mill offers a rotation range between 650 RPM and 1800 RPM. At full speed, the air flow will be 62 CFM and the static pressure 2.52 mmH2O.

As for the support of the sockets, once again, no worries. This version of the Hyper 212 Evo remains compatible with everything on the market. Only the sTRX40 will remain on the tile, but that’s not surprising.

Finally, we end with the announced price of $39.90 with an availability date of October 21st. At this price, Cooler Master positions its heatsink right in front of the Pure Rock 2 to be quiet!. By the way, that would make an interesting match, which of the two offers the best entry-level ventirad?
