Intel Alder Lake Mobile: the range unveiled

While the final elements of the Tiger Lake product line have barely been unveiled, the entire future Intel Alder Lake Mobile product line seems to have leaked. HXL has acquired a slide that gives a relatively accurate picture of this line, which should arrive by the end of the year. It is known that Alder Lake “desktop” could be introduced in the third quarter of 2021. According to the leak, the 12th generation Intel Core mobile range will be divided into three main categories and six performance segments, each with multiple products. Alder Lake Mobile

The Alder Lake-M line

This range could be summarized as the “low consumption” series. It includes the M5 and U9 series with a nominal power of 5W (up to 7W) and 9W (up to 15W) respectively. The M5 series will offer 1 large core and up to 4 small cores with up to 64 graphics execution units. The U9 series will offer up to 2 large and 8 small cores and up to 96 graphics processing units. The slide shows that these will be used in tablet PCs and ultrabooks.

The Alder Lake-P series

The Alder Lake P series includes U15, U28 and H45. U15, U28 and H45 have power ratings of 15 W (12/20 W), 28 W (20 W) and 45 W (35 W) respectively. The U15 series will include up to 2 large cores and up to 8 small cores. The U28 series will include up to 6 large cores and up to 8 small cores. The H45 series will include up to 6 large hearts and up to 8 small hearts. All three have 96 graphics execution units. The U-Series appears to be integrated into consumer and high-performance laptops with Tiger Lake processors. The H-Series appears to be a direct replacement for Tiger Lake-H35 which is in gaming laptops.

The Alder Lake-S series

Alder Lake S is the last category and it’s a bit of a “surprise”. The only series listed below is the H55 series. It would have a power rating of 55 W (45 W cTDP). It would then have up to 8 large and 8 small Gracemont cores. The “counterpart” would be that this series has only 32 graphics execution units. We can therefore conclude that this series is intended to be accompanied by a dedicated graphics card. In the leaked slide, the systems listed are defined as the “muscle” segment which indicates a case of use in a high-end gaming laptop.
