Intel and the Avengers is not over

Intel and the Avengers is not over

After the launch of the KA processors, totally identical products but with an Avengers “collector” box, we thought the joke would end there…

Today we learn that AAA Marvel’s Avengers will be the first game with specific optimizations for Intel processors.

Avengers: “Water is better on a top-of-the-line Intel processor”

We had already seen this kind of “practice” on some games with certain graphics cards, now the approach seems to be extended to processors.

These optimizations are realized in 3 areas, here is the marketing discourse that materializes the benefits of an Intel CPU in the game:

Feel the strength of your heroes
Supercharged Heroes
When you execute the signature move of each hero in Marvel’s Avengers, you’ll know! Each of the heroes’ ultimate abilities have been supercharged to create fantastic demonstrations of power. The force and shockwave of each special move will create more detailed rubble and debris that will stay on the screen longer, making you feel and look as powerful as a superhero should!

Improved enemy destruction
With every powerful blow, trample, explosion or smash, you’ll see more persistent, more detailed shards of armour, flying into more rooms and more places – making every battle in Marvel’s Avengers a battle you won’t soon forget.

Reactive water simulation
Even water is better on a high-end Intel processor. With the optimal balance of cores, threads and frequency, any interaction with water becomes a richer, more responsive experience. Water splashes and reacts as it would naturally in the real world.

Of course, in the editorial staff, we thought it was a joke… But this is clearly not the case. On this game, “water is better on a high-end Intel processor” 🙂. Obviously the “raw” translation of the official US text makes some sentences even more grotesque…

More Intel optimizations to come on other games

We also learn that this game won’t be a one-shot deal. The partnership between Intel and Marvel’s Avengers should last at least two years. Should we expect more games or new optimizations?
