Intel Core i5-760 and ECS P55H-AK Review

Intel Core i5-760 and ECS P55H-AK Review

Intel Core i5-760 Review

Temp / Power / Noise (CPU/GPU)

To test thermal, power and acoustic performance of the components being reviewed today we took readings under two conditions. The first was with our test system running with no activity at the desktop. The second scenario is with each component running at full load. The CPU was stressed using Prime95 and the GPUs were put through their paces using Furmark. The readings were taken after 30minutes of each state using Everest/Realtemp GT and GPUz. A professionally calibrated decibel meter was used to obtain the noise level results and was placed at ear level with the system running within a Silverstone FT02 at floor level.

Ambient temperature was 22°C.

  Idle Load
CPU Temp 33°C 50°C
GPU1 Temp 44°C 87°C
GPU2 Temp 38°C 87°C
Idle Power 162w N/A
CPU Load Power N/A 231w
GPU Load Power N/A 333w
GPU Noise Level 44.1dBA 47.3dBA

Overall the i5-760 gives us results we would expect for its specification, never rising above 50°C when running at full load on our H70 CPU cooler. The XFX cards hit 87°C at their highest which is very good considering their single slot coolers. More impressive was the noise level, 47.3dBA maximum, which was a complete surprise as single slot coolers tend to be loud and very often annoying.
