Intel hires one of the fathers of RTX and DLSS

Intel has just hired Anton Kaplanyan from the Facebook Reality Labs to strengthen its graphics division.

Anton Kaplanyan will join Intel as Vice President of Intel AXG’s graphics research division. Anton’s career path is just incredibly dense with a stint at Facebook within the VR division (Oculus Research), Nvidia where he contributed to the birth of RTX and DLSS or at Crytek where he worked on rendering techniques within Crysis 2 in particular. This recruitment allows us once again to realize that Intel’s ambitions for its graphics solutions are extremely important.

Pat Gelsinger is building a Dream Team at Intel.

Just a few weeks ago, on June 22, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger announced the addition of two new technology leaders to his executive team, as well as several changes to Intel’s business units. Current Intel executives Sandra Rivera and Raja Koduri will each take on new leadership positions, and technology industry veterans Nick McKeown and Greg Lavender will join the company. Another mark of the new CEO’s willingness to shake up the company with a major reorganization. Raja Koduri is the sole head of the Accelerated Computing Systems and Graphics Group ( aka Intel AXG ). AXG is responsible for providing HPC and graphics solutions in several forms for the home, enterprise and data center. Koduri was previously general manager of architecture, graphics and software at Intel.
