Intel Tease Encore le GPU Xe-HPG DG2

Another “leak” of the Xe-HPG DG2 with Koduri at the helm…

Intel’s chief graphics architect, Raja Koduri, is definitely into teasing future Intel graphics cards. He has once again given us a glimpse of the progress at Intel. This time we have the right to a picture of the next generation DG2 GPU based on Xe-HPG that will equip their next range of graphics cards for gaming.

The Intel Xe-HPG-based DG2 GPU shown by Raja is the DG2-512 variant we’ve heard about in recent rumors. The chip seems to be ready for mass production and is expected to show up later this year. The DG2-512 reference is one of several DG2 GPU variants that will be launched for desktop and notebook platforms. We recently discussed the state of rumors about these GPUs and speculation about the performance of future card variations that may be released. The real debate right now is how and when Intel might release its cards given the state of the market but also the bottleneck in production tools. Indeed, even if nothing is 100% certain, Intel should use TSMC and its 6nm process to produce its GPUs. It will then turn to partners (including Asus) to produce variations of cards.
