It’s the RX 6700’s turn to announce itself

RX 6700: Navi for the heart of the market

The first leaks are starting to arrive on the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (Navi 22 XT) and Radeon RX 6700 (Navi 22 XTL). These cards should be inserted between the RTX 3060 and RTX 3070 normally. According to elements published by Patrick Schur, the RX 6700 XT should have, depending on its versions, a TDP of between 186 and 220w, while its younger sister will be between 146 and 160w. In terms of positioning, the latter (RX 6700) will succeed the RX 5700. Videocardz notes that its GPU has up to 40 computing units. This is the same number of CUs as the Navi 10 GPU from the previous generation of RDNA. This means that the next Radeon RX 6700 series will succeed the RX 5700 series with the same number of cores, but with all the power efficiency and higher clock speeds, the cards should be significantly faster. Unlike Navi 21, Navi 22 has a 192-bit memory bus, which means that models based on this GPU should offer 12 or 6 GB of memory. Navi 22 could also be adapted for laptops as a high-end gaming GPU, similar to the NVIDIA GA104 (RTX 3070 Mobile and its various versions).

A launch in January with stock?

The cards manufactured around these two GPUs should be announced in January. It is very likely that in the coming weeks there will be a lot of leakage in order to start positioning these future references in front of the RTX 30xx. Here again, the question of stock will be crucial, but certain sources within the AMD partners seem to confirm that these versions will have much greater volumes available from the launch.
